Experts skeptical of N.H. ballot-count conspiracy B:50% R:50%

An analysis by The Associated Press' Election Research and Quality Control service found that Clinton led Obama by about 6 percentage points in machine-counted towns, where she earned 53 percent of the vote and Obama earned 47 percent. Obama led Clinton by about 8 percentage points in hand-counted towns, where he earned 54 percent of the vote and Clinton earned 46 percent.

Being a software developer I understand that there can be bugs in software that can skew results. However, imagine if our financial software was skewed this badly? Would we stand for that sort of difference in our paychecks? Why would we allow this sort of difference in our elections? This bug (or more likely, a "feature") needs to be found and remedied.

I saw more news today out of New Hampshire concerning some of the count errors on the Diebold machines that were used. I also saw some congresswoman introduced a bill requiring paper ballots. It is a shame that is this day and age we still have to use paper ballots but it appears to be the most reliable method (and I am not saying that paper ballots are by any means infallible).
