- Lieberman: McCain Can Reunite Our Country B:16% R:83%
- Submitted By: Ek0nomikSen. Joe Lieberman is crossing party lines and endorsing Republican Sen. John McCain for president.
- Ahhh Lieberman B:0% R:100%
- Submitted By: lifewithryanIt seems like Lieberman gets it. Lets forget about this "Us vs. Them" garbage and get something done in this country. Not that I'm a fan of McCain or anything...(we could do worse)...but if others followed his lead and just decided to vote for the person thats going to get the job done, I think we'd be in a better place at the end of four year. Then again, we can probably only go up from here...
- B:100% R:0%
- Submitted By: Ek0nomikLieberman has become an idiot imo. It's like going back and forth between right and left is a game for him. It's hard to believe he was Gore's running mate in 2000. He sure wouldn't be to popular today with his Iraq war stance.
- Back and Forth Game? B:0% R:100%
- Submitted By: lifewithryanI don't look at it like he thinks its a game. I'm more apt to believe one of two things: 1) he's just picking who he thinks has the ability to run the country, --or-- 2) he's getting paid by whoever side he jumps on. What I'm impressed with is the fact that by jumping sides, he's showing that he doesn't care which party the candidate is affiliated with.
- No Way B:100% R:0%
- Submitted By: imsullyI trust Joe Leiberman as much I would trust a... I can't even think of a comparison to use... an oil baron dictating energy policy. Trying to follow his platforms makes my head spin. I expect more from Connecticut, shame on you.
- Different Perspective B:50% R:50%
- Submitted By: lifewithryanI guess at this point, I'm not viewing Lieberman as a "candidate" or even a "past-candidate" but a voter just like you or I, with the exception that he's been in the game. Alot of Dems or Cons...(funny how when you shorten the word Conservatives you get "Cons")... won't cross party lines...Lieberman doesn't seem tied to some barrier.
- Protecting the National Interest? B:100% R:0%
- Submitted By: kowasaki23A bit of a spin-off from your comparison.. In late 2006 the Bush admin. appointed Lee Raymond, former chief of ExxonMobil, to head a study to chart the future of our country's energy use. This is the same man who in a 2005 interview in the Wall Street Journal was quoted as saying: "it’s yet to be shown how much of this [global warming] is really related to the activities of man.†Other examples: coal and oil lobbyist J. Stephen Griles as Deputy Secretary of the Interior, timber lobbyist Mark Rey as Undersecretary for Natural Resources and Environment, et multi al. Perhaps it is time to actually care about the unseen positions in our government, as they are a direct extension of the powers that be.
- Good Point B:50% R:50%
- Submitted By: lifewithryanVery good point: "Perhaps it is time to actually care about the unseen positions in our government, as they are a direct extension of the powers that be." I think I often fail to see things from that perspective, and unfortunately I think a good number of people have the same lack of vision of the "whole picture." I'm getting better, and I know that if I can start seeing the light, so can others.
- Balls B:50% R:50%
- Submitted By: redwhiteblueLeiberman is the only Dem with the balls to speak what he really feels. He isn't afraid to tell it like it is and risk putting his career on the line. Too many other politicians but their career before the good of the state. He is one of the few good men out there.
- B:50% R:50%
- Submitted By: KC9EVPI'd agree. Although I don't agree politically with Leiberman, he spoke up a few years back and was thrown under the bus by his own party. He ran as an Independent and smoked the Democrat candidate. To me that showed he was more Centrist than Liberal. Here he is again speaking his mind and not reading from the party's script. I will bet you that they do their best to destroy him again.
